WHAT IS VR?

Virtual Reality (VR) is a simulated experience that can be similar to or completely different from the real world, depending on the environment. That environment can be a 360° photo or video of a real place taken anywhere in the world, or a realistic 3D generated virtual world. The VR environment is immersive for the user because it often feels like they are actually physically present in the virtual world. This immersive VR experience is possible to achieve through the use of VR headsets.

TYPES OF VR

FULLY IMMERSIVE

The user is fully immersed in the VR environment and can move around by physically moving in the real world, while interacting with various objects. This is the most immersive VR experience possible today.

However, using specialized equipment such as body tracing sensors and hand tracking pressure sensitive gloves, the experience can be even more enhanced.

For this type of VR experience, a high end device is required, such as the HTC Vive Pro, Oculus Quest or the Oculus Rift S along with other specialized equipment.

INTERACTIVE

The user can interact with various objects and move around the virtual world by using a remote controller.
For this type of VR experience, a medium ranged device is required, such as the Oculus GO or Samsung GearVR.

SPECTATOR / OBSERVER

The user can observe a 360° photo, video or can be set in a fixed position in a 3D environment. This type of VR puts the user in a position of a spectator, providing them with a feeling of actually being at a location they are observing.
For this type of VR experience, a low-end device is required, such as the Google Cardboard or any other plastic VR glasses.
