How did Just Out Manasija Festival organizers
amaze their visitors with Augmented Reality technology?
Solution for Just Out Manasija
Digital Content with Markers
Regarding digital content which is displayed when different markers are scanned using a phone camera, we can differentiate among video content, text, and images, as well as AR photo.
Once the appropriate marker is scanned, the video is shown. This video appears on YouTube and not only relates to the medieval leader who inspired the entire Just Out Manasija Festival, but also to the scenes of knighthood and medieval everyday life.
The content represented by text and images provides additional information about Manasija heritage, such as tombstone, archaeological site, researching rare documents and artifacts, as well as the medieval dining room. AR Photo with different medieval weaponry can be captured and shared on social media. The extra value that this marker provided was that visitors could try out objects as if they are real, which knights held centuries ago. Otherwise, these objects cannot be touched because they were safely stored in the museum part of the monastery. (see following Figures)
The entire festival accepted quite well this new integration of digital and live interaction. Furthermore, all the impressions with the content can be shared via the social media channels: be that Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or elsewhere.
Add-ons to future Just Out Manasija Festival app
Apart from the Augmented Reality component, it is planned to develop the entire series of knighthood VR games.
The first in series of these VR games, called the Archery is already developed and wowed people with its engaging content. In this game, you are carrying a bow and arrow in your hand, as you ride a horse and try to reach targets.
